Propellant Ventures is pleased to provide an engaging virtual discussion to talk about innovation in the Renewable Energy industry. We will kick-off the event with a Breakout Room so attendees can get to know one another. Make sure to dial-in at 3pm CST. Zoom dial-in instructions below.
Agenda
4:00-4:20pm: Check-In / Breakout Room
4:20-5:00pm: Panel Discussion
5:00-5:30pm: Open Discussion
The U.S. renewable energy market remains one of the world’s most dynamic with huge opportunities in innovation, manufacturing, and sustainability. In fact, the U.S. now generates about 22% of its electricity from renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, and biomass. Solar was the fastest-growing source in 2024 and offshore wind is gaining traction. Also, green hydrogen pilots and long-duration storage (e.g., iron-air batteries) are expanding.
Key drivers in renewable energy demand include: 1) Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) - Historic policy that has spurred record private investment (~$250B+ pledged since 2022) in clean energy manufacturing, domestic supply chains, and deployment; 2) Corporate Demand - Companies like Amazon, Google, and Microsoft are signing massive power purchase agreements (PPAs) to meet net-zero goals; and 3) State Leadership - States such as California, Texas, and New York are leading with ambitious renewable targets and incentives.
However, interconnection delays and aging grid infrastructure are major constraints for large-scale projects. In addition, policy volatility such as the newly proposed Senate budget aims to phase out wind and solar tax credits by 2027, shifting subsidies back to fossil fuels , which is a big concern for developers and investors.
Opportunites do exist in 1) Grid Modernization- AI, storage, and microgrids, which can make the grid more resilient and unlock more renewables; 2) Domestic Manufacturing - Reducing reliance on imported solar panels and batteries; and 3) Emerging Tech - Breakthroughs in green hydrogen, floating offshore wind, and carbon capture integrated with renewables. Regardless, the path forward will depend heavily on stable policy, grid upgrades, and continued investment in breakthrough tech.
Join us for an engaging discussion with experts, entrepreneurs, and investors to discuss innovation in the Renewable Energy sector.
